# What rights are involved with common icons? Can I use them?

Would I have the right to use common application icons like save or open? I didn’t make them… are they in some way copyrighted? Am I restricted from snagging them out of some application’s interface and using them as my own?

Does anyone know anything about common icons like that and their fair use?
