# Working with moviePos... quick question... PLEASE HELP ASAP!

Okay, the deal is… I am making a scrolling navigation menu…  
I have all the code set up… I used a sample code. I picked apart the code and found out everything except this…

WHAT IS… “Leftstop” and “Rightstop”???

## Here is how it is used? -below- (but what does it mean and what are the numbers representational of???)

center = 299;  
moviePos = port\_strip.\_x;  
Leftstop = 500;  
Rightstop = -550;

if ((\_root.\_xmouse \> 129) and (\_root.\_xmouse \< 570) and (\_root.\_ymouse \> 95) and (\_root.\_ymouse \< 217)) {  
ScrollSpeed = (\_root.\_xmouse - center) / 7;  
moviePos = Math.round(moviePos - ScrollSpeed);  
}  
if (((\_root.\_xmouse \< 129) or (\_root.\_xmouse \> 570)) and ((\_root.\_ymouse \< 95) or (\_root.\_ymouse \> 217))) {  
ScrollSpeed = 0;  
moviePos = moviePos;  
}  
if (moviePos \> Leftstop) {  
moviePos = Leftstop;  
}

Hi Cassie,  
hey, I have just read exactly the same Q at another forum somewhere !!!

The leftStop and rightStop is the limit of your scroll. Assuming your \_x is in the top left hand corner of your mc it will not go anyfurther the -550, or 500, to make the scroll go further ( or reduce its scope) just change those two co-ordinates to what you want
