# Working with the local filesystem

Hi guys,

I’ve been asked to write an app where I have to get the user to select a local directory, scan that directory for all images inside and then upload these images to the web. After a few hours of searching the only way that seems like it could be possible is with the use of an AIR application rather than just a flash application. Would anyone be able to confirm that this is the case or point me in the direction of a class which could help make it possible in AS3?
