# W's in bitmap text

So what I have is a simple dynamic text field with bitmap (read: aliased) text. After "w"s the kerning goes all ape on me and For the life of me, no amount of adjusting the text box / screwing with the TextFormat smooths this out.

Any ideas? I’ve been racking this one for a while now. See image
