# XML and Flash Photogallery Problem

Hi! How is everyone doing? Long time listener, first time caller…
I love the look of the photogallery found here \*\*[http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx2004/xml\_flash\_photogallery.htm](http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx2004/xml_flash_photogallery.htm) \*\*
but am not able to open the unzipped files in both Flash MX locations near the bottom of the page. I am using Flash MX. When I try to open the FLA file in Flash, an “Unexpected File Format” error window pops up. How can I remedy this?

I’m having the same problem. Searching this forum seems to indicate it has happened to a lot of other people, but I don’t have the option of upgrading to a more recent version of Flash. Is there any other way to make this work?

go to page three of the photogallery tutorial and download the MX source files. I had the same problem as you guys, but the source files worked just fine for me.

Thanks weiland, I was able to open that file with no problem. Still wonder why the other ones give the error, though.
