# Xml gallery

ok I’ve decided to make xml gallery in flash. I’ve seent he tutorials and other peoples galleries… in xml you have to have code pointing to each image in a folder?
Can’t I have some code that just takes all images in the folder and places them in the gallery?
So let’s say I have 100 images I wouldnt have to make a 100 statements… unless doing that is easier…

If I understand what you’re asking correctly, yeah I would think you could just put all the images into a directory and have flash read the directory and the files in it. I’m not really a “flasher” but I would imagine it’s possible.
I think it all depends on what you’re doing. If you’re just using flash to display image I don’t see what you can’t read the images from a directory. But if you wanted to add captions to the images, make them linked to a page or whatever - then the XML method would allow you more options for the gallery.
But like any project, it’s all a matter of what your needs are.
