# XML in Flash MX and higher

Hi! I just did the “Displaying XML Data in Flash” tutorial (from 2004) which was very helpful, however, it doesn’t work correctly with Flash 8. I’m a newbie to XML (obviously) and don’t know if I need to change the XML version in the XML doc or in Flash. When I publish the Flash file, the output is that the .xml is “undefined.” I also followed the instructions to remove “xmlData.onLoad = loadXML;” line for Flash MX and higher. I’m sure this is something simple - can someone please help? Thanks!
