# XML menu to call functions?

Hi

I’m looking to create an XML menu, but **not** one that just links to URL’s, like [**THIS**](http://www.kirupa.com/developer/actionscript/xml_dropdown_menu7.htm).

Its a great menu, but I wanted to know if an XML menu can be made to communicate with a swf by giving it a function to execute e.g. “function DoSomething() {”

I’ve looked everywhere, and the closest function the XML will do internally is write a little message.

Can it be done?
