I was wondering what xml does differently then PHP and or HTML. Ive never gotten into it yet, but I want to learn, just was wondering some of the pluses to it and or cons. Thanks a lot ---

Ok, I read it, but i still dont get what I can do with it? What things can it do that PHP cant? ---

its nothing like PHP. It can in no way replace it. XML is just a way of formatting information, thats all. XML is something you’d compare to maybe a simple database or a text file. It organizes textual information in a readable structure. ---

it’s not an “action” language if you will… you can’t define functions like you can in php, it’s like xhtml. It allows for faster indexing and formatting in any way you can imagine. Actually, my dad was telling me a day or two ago that he had come up with a version similar to xml a bit before it had been “invented”. His method had only two differences: 1. It didn’t have attributes 2. It didn’t use a / on end tags, but instead a ~ ---

yep, but then again, he’s “world-class” at similarity searching, or so he says, he was going to sell to ebay aol and us gov… I would’ve had millions then :P:P
