# XML Slideshow/Previous and Next Button Combination

I recently completed the tutorial on this site (which was awesome and very helpful) for the **Photo Gallery using XML and Flash** , as well as a very similar one that involves previous and next buttons. However, what I didn’t see (and can’t seem to figure out how to do) was combine the two.

I’d like to be able to have the flash movie automatically start up and begin cycling through the pictures, but also allow users to back track through the pictures using the buttons. Is this possible? There is something similar to what I’m looking for on [ESPN.com](http://ESPN.com), on the left-hand side, just below the spot for their main article.

Any help would be greatly appreciated; I am very much a newcomer to Flash. I’m hoping it’s just a simple tweak of the ActionScript (although I know the word ‘simple’ is relative 🙂 )
