It seems like a lot of Flash people don’t like working with XML in AS. Well, a pretty popular alternative, common in Ruby, PHP, Rails, etc. is [**YAML**](http://www.yaml.org/).

I was just wondering, why isn’t there any interest in this from Flash people? It’s, uh, really easy. Somebody here should write a parser for it. 🙂

Just a sample array of Strings:

```auto
- item one
- item two
- item three
```

And a much more complicated example ([http://www.yaml.org/start.html](http://www.yaml.org/start.html)):

```auto
--- !clarkevans.com/^invoice
invoice: 34843
date : 2001-01-23
bill-to: &id001
    given : Chris
    family : Dumars
    address:
        lines: |
            458 Walkman Dr.
            Suite #292
        state : MI
        postal : 48046
ship-to: *id001
    - sku : BL394D
      quantity : 4
      description : Basketball
      price : 450.00
    - sku : BL4438H
