because it is easily customizable, its a great framework, there is loads of support, and is scalable and expandable in every sense of the word

looks like its an enterprise level CMS, and is probably not free, which means its probably extremely good lol

My school just paid a _LOT_ of moolah for it. I think it runs with [ASP.net](http://ASP.net)

hehe! Honestly I want to learn SiteCore inside and out for my school. However, I have some projects I’d like to do on my own and don’t know if they’d let me use their engine/site to do them from, so I’d like to learn another CMS just to use for my own little projects.
lol Wordpress is kicking \*\*\* thus far. I fear it’s easy and weak. :\
I dunno. Thanks for the help (as always) today guys (simp, faster).

It’s far from weak. Feel free to learn how the plugins work and you will find you can put any functionality in it that you want in a few hours.
(I added a full bbcode admin panel and parser for it in a day… it’s plugin system is very well put together plus it supports auto updates on plugins which is very efficient.)

Wordpress is as advanced as you want to make it.
Think of it as a framework where you can easily add functionality.

Wordpress FTW. Though if you need efficiency for high load, there are much better options.

I tried word press, and it wasn’t quick enough or flexible enough for me. It makes a great blog cms, but for some other things, it is very tricky for it to do what you want.
I use Frog CMS, it is in that gray area between a frame work and cms. So it is kinda like a build your own kinda deal. It allows you to stick php code right into articles, customize snippets. The plugin system is just functions you add onto a file, so you can write a plugin for it in around half an hour. Right now frog CMS does not a have alot of support but its user base is growing.

MovableType is a great CMS, Wordpress works really well too and neither are limited to blogs

you clearly haven’t worked w/ many “enterprise” level cms. price means absolutely nothing, i’d say about 85-90% of the expensive “enterprise” level cms that I’ve ever tested or used have the worst users interfaces, and usability of online apps ever.

confused with “This is obviously really expensive, so it must be so super great and amazing in every which way”
they don’t even show prices on that site 👼
Also, have you played around with sitecore? you can’t apply your “85-90%” of cms’ being garbage without trying it …
