# Z position of nested movie clip

This is driving me crazy. I have a movie clip(main) that contains a bunch of other movie clips(subs). I’m moving the clip ‘main’ along the z axis but need to figure out what the z position of the nested clips(subs) relative to the stage is. Anyone know how this is done?
