Macromedia has some sample flash files which have buttons that look like 3d, but they are vector format based. Form where did macromedia embed those vector format based 3d buttons?
The image (glow) looks transparent but when you select it, it will change it’s color to a different form (dark color)
I think like one of the gel playback buttons in the common library “Buttons”.
Any button has glow in it, For example there is joystick sample, etc. When you click on the glow it will change its color to something else, and in the paint bucket tool you will find mesh and some color gradient overlapping as the selection.
I was just wondering how they did and were able to bring 3d like appearance
Thanks for the comments. I even attached the sample file.
ok, like i said before it just using gradient to get that 3d look. You need a basic understanding on how a 3d shape is drawn.
Light source - lit up area (gradient) to a shadow (gradient)
::: one 3d look you can do, is draw a circle get the gradient tool and apply a diagonal gradient (black to white in gradient) starting from the top left to the bottom right. then copy that same circle and scale its so its about 80 percent smaller than the original circle (proportional scale).
Then with the same gradient apply the gradient this time, starting from the bottom right to the top left. (or for this example you could simply rotate the smaller circle 180 degrees) And you will end up with a indented 3d look.
apply the same concept and play around
Hey all,
Thanks for those comments.
I know how to apply gradients. I’ve done it before.
But what they did is little different. I realized that yesterday. They made a radial gradient and then they made the alpha effect of one gradient color to zero. That’s how it worked nothing more than that.
Once again, Thank you very much for your comments.
