actionScript and forms issue

Hi all, I’m new here. I was directed here from another forum, it was said that you guys are helpful and know your onions, so here’s the thing.

A client wants me to produce a simple Flash form to go with her website which is also, rather annoyingly, Flash. Now, creating the form and all of the elements is child’s play. The trouble is that the Flash Bible says that I need to install the ‘w3 JMail Personal asp’ component from a given site.

http://tech.dimac.net (found in their free downloads section).

However, that site only has a Windows version :h:. The asp script is fairly simple and I can work that out for myself, but I am a little hesitant due to the ‘required’ component that I can’t get. What other ways are there to achieve this?

Failing that, I have been proactive in trying to sort out the problem a different way. I have been using the FlashMX Bible to get information and guidance with actionScript but, some of the scripts are buggy and Flash is a little vague in explaining what the problems are. It gives a frame number/label, layer name/number and gives a cryptic clue as to the error such as ‘expected ‘)’ or’,’. Eh?

The script is attached as a .txt file. Any help would really be appreciated.

In case you need to know, here’s my setup: Dual 1Ghz G4, MacOSX (10.2.8), 1.5Gb ram, 160GB HD, StudioMX and other stuff, too.
