Advice on these books?

Hi,

I was looking at some book titles on Amazon that I plan to take a look for at the local B&N.

But I was wondering if anyone here has bought these titles and can recommend them as good or bad or beginner, intermediate or advanced.

Book 1: Flash MX 2004 Graphics, Animation & Interactivity by: James L. Mohler
Book 2: Visual Quickstart Guide to Mac Flash 2004 By: Katherine Ulrich
Book 3: Mac Flash MX 2004 Advanced By: Russell Chun
Book 4: Mac Flash MX 2004 Killer Tips By: Shane Elliott
Book 5: Mac Flash MX 2004 Hands-On Training By: Rosanna Yeung and Lynda Weinman
Book 6: Mac Flash MX 2004 Training from the source By: Jen Dehaan

My experience, I’m very comfortable in the design and building tools all the way up to MX. Actionscript-wise I’m probably intermediate.

I have used the 2004 version very little because of some of our limitations here at work with the player versions. But thats about to change so I figured I better brush up on MX 2004 because it appears at first glance to be quite a bit different than MX.

Thanks,
Gary

Ok, its a good thing you told us your level in

. Since you said your fairly strong with

and the tools, I might suggest you take a look at Essential Actionscript 2.0 by Colin Moock. Its his new book and is written for

2.0 as well as OOP. Im not really sure about the books youve said but atleast try my suggestion first. Take a look at it at B&N and see how its written and if you prefer it.

Thanks, I found these books back in April so they’re a little out of date I bet. I have used some of Mr. Moock’s scripting in the past so I will definitly be looking for the book.

Thanks,
Gary
