Who among you guys are fan of using CodeIgniter Framework… uhm just a question, I just don’t get how ajax work in CI. I found it hard to figure out how to pass the data to be loaded by ajax back into controller then the controller will pass the data to be loaded in views.
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<script type=“text/javascript”>
function loadXMLDoc()
{
var xmlhttp;
if (window.XMLHttpRequest)
{// code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari
xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest();
}
else
{// code for IE6, IE5
xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject(“Microsoft.XMLHTTP”);
}
xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=function()
{
if (xmlhttp.readyState==4 && xmlhttp.status==200)
{
document.getElementById(“myDiv”).innerHTML=xmlhttp.responseText;
}
}
xmlhttp.open(“GET”,“ajax_info.txt”,true);
xmlhttp.send();
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<div id=“myDiv”><h2>Let AJAX change this text</h2></div>
<button type=“button” onclick=“loadXMLDoc()”>Change Content</button>
</body>
</html>
the ajax works in this part:
xmlhttp.open(“GET”,“ajax_info.txt”,true);
my question is how can I implement ajax in MVC approach of CodeIgniter??
by the way the code is not mine, credits to the http://www.w3schools.com Thanks.
