I am new to the forum although I have been visiting Kirupa for some time now. I used to be a fan, now I’m hoping I can contribute back a little.
I recently began to work on an AJAX like search using Flash, sort of a search as you type module. I found senocular’s tutorial on searching XML within Flash and tweaked it a little to get more or less the results I was looking for. I have to say I was impressed with the result although I found a major drawback which I haven’t been able to overcome.
The module does search as you type, however it searches exactly for what the user has written including spaces, punctuation, caps, etc. The thing is I want the users to type their questions and then make flash search for those words within the XML document even if the words aren’t next to each other.
