just wondering if it’s possible to make a site entirely in flash. I mean no Dreamweaver or anything like that…
And i know how to make a site in flash… just not if you have to use something else to get it up on the web…

I’m working on something similar right now. I did the site completely in flash, but then put the flash movie on an html page. I don’t think people would be able to see the page as a flash file by itself without putting an exact file name in. (i didnt put anything elase on the page except the flash file)
you can directly load an swf file from the web into a browser
without having an html page. but…
why would you want to? unless you make the movie to stretch
across various resolutions, it’s going to look crappy and distorted.

it’s a piece of crap! and so is Powerpoint and all the “web-development” programs ive ever tried. i dont like them. They are confusing and things dont end up the way you want to!

well for what youre looking to do, i would say, calmly open dream weaver… create a new HTML page and just drag and drop your file onto the screen (center it if need be) and save… shouldnt be too painful.

hehe, sorry buddy but powerpoint is not a web development program. I’m accually really suprised that you have the intelligence to make a full flash website but don’t know any html. So anyways, to make a full flash website you need to learn a tiny bit of html in order to get it on the web where it accually looks decent. You can use dreamweaver but like you said its confussing you so i’d stay away from it for now and just try to use a little html.
Also you can publish your flash movie with an html file. That will help.
oh and…stay away from powerpoint.

teq: all you have to do it go to file>> publish in flash and it wil make an html page for you
Ok Dreamweaver is good but learn HTML as its alway better to know what is being created as opposed to going on blind faith.
Then get on to javascript the asp / php and eventually you’ll see how they all link in.
You don’t remember the days of html coding in notepad and programs like LYNX?

DreamWeaver is better than frontpage, but i use frontpage 2 make cells, and then i open it in dreamweaver!:trout:
DW create table:
Object palette, click table icon, select number of rows and columns, set width, set cell spacing and padding, click OK.
To set table or cell backgrounds as well as other features, select the desired area then make the changes using the Properties palette.
Can’t be much simpler than that in Frontpage or any other program. It’s just a matter of learning how to use the tools of the trade.
LOL…I dont evan know how to make cells, in frontpage, i just go 2 —file>newpage, and open 1 with cells already in them!

Stick to notepad. You get what you want, where you want. No loss of hair, (I’m 23 and almost entirely bald apart from a few patches of har here and there ) your fist don’t hurt from pounding the wall… the list is endless. |You want stress free, use notepad. Old is gold or some crappy phrase like that
