Altering photos

I’m currently working on a piece of art to send into a scholarship program. It must be digital so I’m doing it in Photoshop. I’m doing it on a subject that requires the use of photos and their manipulation. Can someone point me towards some good, and informative tutorials about masking, editing and enhancing photos, or any other useful tutorials for putting together a piece involving multiple photos and their visually pleasing collaboration?
