I have found a few posts on this question but they all seem to be dated a few years back so wanted to make sure I was up to date. I’ve also googled around a bit but find it a lot more useful to get opinions on forums.
As part of a part-time masters I’m doing, I’m developing a 3D modeling tool in Flash. I’ve been using Flash Pro 8 but my trial version is going to be running out in the next week and the full version is a bit expensive for my tastes. I won’t really be using the designer much for the app I’m developing as a lot of the main stage population and manipulation is going to be done at runtime so will be all done through AS. However a designer would be useful for creating things such as option menus, ect.
I was wondering if anyone could recommend any free or open source alternatives. Looking at older posts - http://www.flashdevelop.org - seems to be a popular choice but just wondering if anyone has actually used it and if so what their thoughts on it are? Or has anyone had any positive experience with any other free IDEs?
Any thoughts, help, opinions would be greatly appreciated.
