exactly why does america do it’s date format so idiotically? any ideas anyone? I tried googling for five minutes, and got bored, so thought i’d open this one up to discussion.
At the root of this qestion though, is the fact that I’m european, so me and my forefathers have been using a format that works for us for huundreds of years.
dd/mm/yyyy
This seems to me to be a pretty happy idea. each value being followed by a larger value, in some kind of fairly useable ascending order, so why do americans feel it necessary to do this in an altogether different fashion, which has no order of precedence?
