Animate space between letters in textbox

Hi, I use flash for a while and I don’t understand how can I make the space between the letters larger or smaller…
I want to animate from this:
HELLO WORLD!!!
to this:
H E L L O W O R L D ! ! !

can anyone please help me find a solution?

does anyony know what to do here?

Make the text and adjust the horizontal spacing slider which is right under the font name menu.

That will not work.
What you have to do is type your text, then select the text object and break it apart (Ctrl+B). Then you get each letter as an object by itself. Make a symbol out of each letter (F8) and then you can animate those any way you like just like you would animate a moving box.

Red Giant software and a whole slew of other companies have Text Effect packages you can get. I got those for free because I upgraded to MX 2004 in a certain timeframe.

WHAT!? He wanted to know how to increase the space between letters. Horizontal spacing is EXACTLY what that does!!!

If he wants to animate the letters after that, THEN she needs to break them apart and maybe distribute the letters to layers. But if he just wants to adjust the spacing between each letter (like he said in the post) then the horizontal spacing does just that!

Am I wrong?

What about this?
