This has only started happening since the most recent XP auto update. (which was supposedly disabled

I have a similar issue but… aside from an annoying error popping up at boot I have just found out that I can no longer burn any cds on my DVD RW from any program. What the hell did MS do in the last update.
Please help if possible.
