Any ideas on extending the CS3 color component?

I would like to extend the functionality of the built in color component available for AS3. I would like to have it provide the same functionality of the color component in the flash IDE itself.

This would include adding in:

  1. an alpha slider
  2. no color button
  3. advanced color palette button
  4. the ability to modify the color well to accept no color and alpha.
  5. the advanced color palette

Anyone know how to extend the built in components?
