Hello again guys,
I’m looking for an Actionscript version of ye olde Combobox component, a dropdown, pulldown, whatever you want to call it. I also need it to be XML driven. The reason for this is that I want to have quite a few of them on one page at a time (something like 72 of the blasted things, although with only three variations of content) and Flash has a slight problem doing this with components.
I thought I’d ask and see if anyone’s done it (and is willing to share) before I waste a lot of time and asking for a lot of help as I struggle through it on my own. I’ve seen such things on other people’s sites, but I can’t seem to find any tutes or files. Actually, I lie, I found an almost perfect version on Flashkit… except it’s Flash 5 and won’t work in 8 or 9 and I definitely don’t possess the skills to upgrade it.
Failing that, I think I’ll post how I’m going on here in case anyone else is interested, or in case people can help me a little with some of the steps. I haven’t tried XML yet (short of the basic tutes yesterday) so this is going to be a bit tricky!
