Apache - User's can't connect to me

Ok I installed Apache today. I had NJS go over a few thing with me such as “Servername” and the server post and stuff like that.

So far so good. When I type http://24.185.145.209:8080/ in my browser I get the apache screen that say’s

"If you can see this, it means that the installation of the Apache web server software on this system was successful. You may now add content to this directory and replace this page."

Which is great but I’m the only one that can see it .

What have I missed? I had this same problem with IIS.

I’m running Windows XP Pro, I have the firewall disabled, I’m not under and firewalls or connected to any routers, or other computers.

I have IIS shut off and Apache running(green light).

I know this is a vague question but I’m not sure why this is happening, hopefully you do

is your PC behind a network?

what isp do you have?

Get this, I’ve been through many help files, etc… Going nuts…

So I call Cablevision, and guess what? Only way users can connect to me is

ftp://
not
http://

Someone suggested that they might have blocked port 8080, and this guy tells me in the near future cablevision users will be able to do this.

Horrible, really…
