I just recently upgraded to Flash CS3. Just recently i have begun a new web site in CS3 and i ran into a problem. I went along my normal routine of designing on stage and used actionscript how i normally would in AS2. I didn’t realize at this point how different AS3 seems to be from AS2. This doesn’t bother me so much because i am willing to learn the new version except for one thing: every single tutorial i find seems to be written from the point of developing with a .as file. Normally i would find another way to do what i am trying to do, but this time i can’t. I learned that what i am trying to do is possible with AS3, but that means i need to convert the entire site to AS3 which will prove to be more difficult than it sounds. Is it not possible to simply target instances from the timeline for things like button rollovers and things like that anymore? I can’t seem to find anything to actually learn from that isn’t based on a .as file. If anyone can help me out please let me know.
