Fair enough

Yeah, fair enough. sometimes the “izakaya mood” label feels like a shortcut unless the lighting/materials actually earn it.

Yeah “izakaya mood” gets slapped on anything with warm pendants and dark wood lately. if they’re not doing that cozy, slightly chaotic layering (menus, bottles, little nooks), it just reads as generic moody bar interior.

“Izakaya mood” has become just a lighting style.

Without cozy, layered spaces and tucked-away corners, it’s merely dark wood and amber bulbs pretending to be authentic. The tradeoff is that lighting alone can’t create the true atmosphere.

I’m with you on the “corners” part. The feeling comes from how bodies move and pause—tight thresholds, partial screens, a little compression before you enter—not just warm color temperature.
