Does any body know how this auto resizeme effect could be done?

I know that you can do it obviously with tweening [ only if you had the time for such percision ]
I was thinking xml? I was trying to edit the the resizeme effect from my portfolio [ http://jake.exit-13.net ] but i was enable to figure out how to have the other containers reaction when another container resized itself. Sorry if that sounds confusing.
Anyone have ideas on where i could find the compontent or fla to help me.
