Basic Tweening help please!

Hi,
how do you make a line draw across the movie?

I am trying to have the effect of the menu “drawing” itself, ie, the outlines, and then filling in [uber-cool effect methinks]

I have been wondering how to have the line drawing across the screen?

Forgive the stupid question :wink:

it is not a stupid questions

you can do this effect by creating the lines you want to draw “themselfs” on the stage and converting them to movies but place their registeration point on the point where you want the line to get wider i mean if you want a line to be drawn from a point to the right place the point on the left. then depending on the loading frequecny of your movie clip increase the width of that movie clip.

you can change the registeration point from the convert to symbol menu (forgive the stuoid hint :wink: ).

Okay this is what i am doing:

in keyframe 1, i am drawing a straight line OFF the movie space, converting to MC and registration point middle left.

in keyframe 30 i am continuing the line across the movie [so the tween will hopefully achieve the effect of drawing the line across the movie]. also i convert to MC and put registration point to middle right.

However it dont work :sleep: and moves a small portion of the line across!

What am i doing wrong!?

I have no clue how you did that…obviously its entirely AS.

Is there another way via tweening? Because i am able to play with that a lot more than i will with AS!

I will show you what i mean.

I have attached fla with some explanation of a line being drawn across from left to right.

back to business i don’t know if this apply to this case but the only idea i get right now for drawing the line using tweening is to apply a mask over an already drawn line and move the mask as you wish the line to appear

Well,adham, that does the trick! How did you do that? Just add a mask layer and draw a rectangle, and then move from left to right?

Is that what you did?

I suggest you center your flash in the web site and match the color of the background so it looks like your flash blends in.
