Battle of the Genres!

Ok, I don’t know if anyone here has seen this type of game before. Basically, we are going to pick 5 genres. Each genre starts at 50. So it would look like this:

Genre 1: 50
Genre 2: 50
Genre 3: 50
Genre 4: 50
Genre 5: 50

Then, everyone can post ONCE A DAY. On your post you can take one away from another genre and add it to your genre of choice, like this:

Genre 1: 50
Genre 2: 51
Genre 3: 50
Genre 4: 49
Genre 5: 50

This keeps going until all but one are zero. Once a genre hits 0 it cannot be modified anymore and has lost the battle.

Rock/Pop -- (top 40, singer-songwriter style stuff, hard rock, soft rock, classic rock etc)

Street -- (R&B, Hip-Hop, Rap, etc..)

Country -- (Modern Country, Classic Country, etc..)

Remember to [COLOR=red]**ONLY POST ONCE EVERY DAY. **[/COLOR][COLOR=black]Always go to the very last post and work from that so you can make sure ou have the most current numbers. Also, to make things easier for people, put it inside of a code box as did above.[/COLOR]

Also, you should now put what you added and subtracted from at the bottom of your post. Like this:

+1 to Genre you added to
-1 to Genre you subtracted from

Well, to keep it fair, the actual battle doesn’t normally start until all of the genres are picked, just so that one doesn’t start with like 40 and one with 60 or something :stuck_out_tongue:

So we have two genres Hardstyle and Metal. We need three more.

Anyone else want to add their favorite genre?

I think more generic variety is needed:
**Rock – **(Soft Rock, Hard Rock, etc…)
**Alternative – **(Punk, Ska, Metal, etc…)
**Classical? – **(Jazz, Celtic, Opera, etc…)
**Techo – **(Dance, Electro, Trance, etc…)
**Street? – **(R&B, Hip-Hop, Rap, etc…)

Yeah I’ve never heard of hard style. Would you just want to keep it simple though and just use stuff like Rock, Rap/R&B, electronica, folk, blues, etc. Otherwise metal, rock, and so on will overlap…

The genre is not called Techo, and not Techno either.

Should be:
Electronic Music – (Dance, Techno, Trance, House, Synthpop etc…)

And if Hardstyle is too specific change it to Electronic Music :stuck_out_tongue:

Ok, why don’t we add a sixth and seventh slot and narrow the categories to:

Electronic Music – (Dance, Techno, Trance, House, Synthpop etc…)
Rock/Pop – (top 40, singer-songwriter style stuff, hard rock, soft rock, classic rock etc)
Metal – (Death Metal, Heavy Metal, Nu-metal, Metalcore, etc)
Classical – (Jazz, Celtic, Opera, etc…)
Street – (R&B, Hip-Hop, Rap, etc…)
Alternative – (Punk, Ska, Alt. Rock, etc…)
Country – (Modern Country, Classic Country, etc…)

Do these categories look satisfactory? I tried to cover as much as I could. If these look good, then we can begin the battle to see who wins :slight_smile:

^Looks good to me lets just start it (I know people may not like the categories but meh if we had them all the game would get a bit confusing).

Lets do it in a code block so people can append onto the ends of certain categories (instead of adding whole new ones)?
