I work all the time in CSS/XHTML and keep making icons and graphics to use on my code for buttons, h tag graphics etc. I never seem to get very good quality and sharpness on my images. They seem to look blurred and not very crisp.
I am using photoshop and its built in styles (dropshadow, stroke etc.) and have tried makeing the images at actual size (16px, 20 px usually) and also at larger size and reducing them, with no joy.
What is the secret to sharp, clean icons. Is it style, compression or software?
