this is to discuss Bioshock for the xbox360 console. If you don’t know, Bioshock is a first person shooter that takes place in an underwater city called Rapture in the 20’s.

So I have finished the game…twice. I did not look at anything online, or have any book or what have you until right now. I beat the game once with harvesting all the children, and once without harvesting all the children.
I did this because the first time I beat it, I got an ending that didn’t seem to fit, i just found out like 5 seconds ago that that was considered the “evil ending”, basically you take all the power and return to the surface to cause some havoc on the world…that’s it! after like maybe 2 minutes of this ending, it fades to black and then returns you to the main title screen…no credit rolls, no big explanation at the end, no grand finale, not even any extras for finishing the game.
so I played it again and let all the children go, I got the “good ending” it shows you letting the kids go to the surface and they go to college, get married, have their own kids, then it shows you (well, just your hand) in a hospital bed, and the girls all touch your hand…and back to the title screen.
I felt pretty cheated here. The game was excellent all the way through, and I rarely play these types of games more than once, so achievements for all that, the game got the highest score on ign.com and I agree with it for the gameplay and sound (sound is excellent in this game), but the ending is a complete let down.
Maybe I’m used to longer and more thought out endings because I play a lot of RPG’s and not a lot of shooters, maybe my standards are too high when it comes to delivering a good story and a good ending, I’m used to endings like that of Final Fantasy and Zelda.
Anyways, that’s my rant, sorry I masked it into being something else, and sorry for writing so ■■■■ much.
