I’m trying to create a virtual sketchbook page where you can pan across a large bitmap image of notes. So there would be a large bitmap under a square mask that you can click and drag to explore, like many map sites do now.

How can you get this functionality (clicking and dragging to move around an image)? My knowledge of actionscript is growing but still fairly basic.

Is there a way to define “edges” to the image, so you can constrain the draggable area (so as not to drag it off the page)?
