Hey,
I’m trying to trace a few .bmp images into Flash 5. I’m wanting the pixels to look crisp (whatever size the movie is viewed at), but currently they get blurred when viewed at 100%. Any pointers?
Cheers,
Antom

When you say 100%, I’m assuming your movie is being stretched from it’s original size to fit the screen and if that’s the case then of course your bitmaps are going to get blurry. Bitmaps aren’t vector based so they’ll get pixelated when viewed at a larger size then the original.
Sorry - I don’t think I explained myself too well there! :sigh:
Anyway, I’m creating text in a paint package to get a “pixel” effect, but when I import the image and trace it (using “trace bitmap”) the vector produced is blurred. I’m thinking it’s to do with the “trace bitmap” settings, but so far the different settings I’ve tried have only helped marginally.
Can anyone help? It’s probably a simple solution now, isn’t it :q:
I don’t use the trace bitmap feature often, but try these settings and see if it helps.
color threshold: 20
minimun area: 1 pixel
curve fit: pixels
corner threshold: many corners
I managed to get a few of my bitmaps to look good, but some keep blurring… anyway, I’ll try out those settings and see if that helps - Cheers! =)
You might try this:
Break up the image by hiliting the image, then CTRL B to break it up. that will enable you to edit the image, and shape tween it as well… Should keep the quality relatively the same (big diff in file size tho).

Thanks for your help, but I found out the solution to my problem - not to do with the settings, but the position of the clips once I’d traced them… d’oh!
Cheers for the help though!
glad you figured it out. =)
