How do I make buttons so that, when you mouse over them, they change color, then click, they change to another color, and after releasing, they go back to original color? I don’t understand what the “up, over down, hit” thing means
create a button, then double click on it to open its timeline.
hit f6 to create frames for the button on the up, over, down and hit states.
now, if you want a different color for your button, simply click on the graphic you have chosen and change its color. the hit state, however, is special. it basically defines the area of the button that you can click. you can make it a bright purple square, but it won’t be visible when you export your animation. it just ensures that the user has a large enough area to click the button without hassle, so ensure that the hit state covers your graphic.
this is usually only needed if the button is hard to click, like text.
