Button issue

i was wondering if someone could answer a question for me.

if i have a button leading to a movie clip and i click on it and inside that movie clip i also have 4 other buttons, how can i make the main button return to the first page in the movie clip?

for example i have a button called services and that leads to a clip containing other buttons called products, terms of service, project process and service garantee… i click the terms of service button and then click on the main button services – how can i get it to go back to that page?

what i am trying to say is if you go to the “services” page and then click “products” once you are on the products page and then click serivces again – it doesnt go back the the “services” page.

is that better explained

If you are using scenes, go to the products scene and edit the services button code.

Ahhh… now I see what you’re trying to do. My guess is, you should use some kind of
[AS]_root();[/AS]
function, but give me some time to analyze it. :thumb:

I bet it’s something that can be done really simply - where’s your fla?

freddyt – the fla is too big to post --that’s why i had to post the link. would posting the swf help you in any way?

okay – the _root didnt work. would i maybe have to put an additional button inside the movie clip in order to make it return to the beginning?

Well, we would really have to see the FLA to be sure what’s wrong. Can you upload it to your server for download ?

Yeah, we kinda need the fla. The .swf file will only play the movie. We can’t open a swf with Flash.

unfortunately no i cant upload it to my server, the file is too big (i can only have a 1mb limit)

ohhh – another button question.

how can i have a button in my main clip link to a certian page within a movie clip.

ie:
( you can use the web site for referrance)
pro image resume

on the main page i added a button to direct me to ‘service agreement’ (the service agreement is inside the ‘services’ clip)

I personally prefer using Scenes. Once you get the hang of them, scenes can be a beautiful thing! :thumb:
