hey guys im planning to buy a memory upgrade for my computer…currently im using a 512 MB DDR 400 generic memory. and im planning to buy another memory with the same spec. but this time it’s a kingston.do you think they will conflict each other?
You shouldn’t have a problem, but usually branded is better quality so put that in the primary slots if you computer has primary slots (your manual say use these slot(s) first).
And usually ram shouldn’t matter if its compatible with your computer.
Shouldn’t matter.
I’m running a stick of Kingston and a stick of Apacer (PC133) at home.
I’ll soon be running a stick of Elixir and US Modular (if it ever gets shipped from backorder) on my newest machine.
I think the only time you have to worry is if the ram is dual channel…

yeah im planning to use that dual channel feature of my motherboard. im using MSI K8N NEO2 motherboard. it says there that if i want to use dual channel i need to have two identical memories. yeah my generic and the kingston have the same spec but they have different brands. :sigh:
