Can someone please help me fix this dynamic text scroller:

For some reason there’s a big empty space under the last row of text, even though it’s not there in the movie clip. Before the scroller button was going too far down, but I fixed that by playing with some settings but I can’t figure this one out.
Also, does anyone know how to mask dynamic text with a masked blurred edges (like, at the top and the bottom)… I’ve seen it done but for some reason my mask shape with transparent edges doesn’t seem to have any affect.
