Can textinput initial-text be erased on click

Is it possible to have a textInput component that will have text that will disapear when the user first clicks or tabs to it? In the parameters field I entered an initial text attribute “sample text” but when i click on it it doesn’t disapear. Instead i have to erase it. thx
