Can use swf files in Dreamweaver templates?

Is there a problem with using swf files in Dreamweaver templates (other than that I can’t get them to work)? The swfs I inserted in a Dreamweaver template DO appear in the template itself when I test it (in Firefox), but do NOT appear in the pages BASED on the template when I test them. In case this means anything, both swf files contain custom buttons. I’m using Flash CS3 and Dreamweaver CS3. Anyone know what the problem is?

I’d suggest learning basic HTML, so you can embed and work with templates properly. A template can only do so much, and so can we, without any code shown here.

Well, even that’s helpful. Indeed, I guess I have some learning to do and won’t waste your time with what seems to be a pretty complicated question. I’ll be back to this forum when I’m not such an annoying newbie anymore!

Have you defined your site in Dreamweaver? Seems like a path issue to me.

Also there is no need to get all sensitive, cpgenius didn’t say anything out of line.

Actually I wasn’t getting “all sensitive.” Or, I may have felt a slight blow to my ego and maybe that showed, but I really meant to acknowledge that he’s right, I am probably asking questions that are too basic for this forum. I find it sweet that came to his defense! I will be taking a couple of classes soon that should help me, and in the mean time I’ll just use workarounds to mask my deficiencies! And I may limit my forum participation to viewing only unless I can describe my question more clearly.
About defining the site in Dreamweaver, I’m pretty sure it is but I’ll look at it more carefully.

The reason why I am asking if the site is defined is because if it is not Dreamweaver embeds the swf with the full path of the local computer (if windows - C://Document and Settings/yada yada).

Can you post the HTML code?
