Change appearance input textfield?

Hi, I’m trying to make a php contactform, but can’t get the inputfields the way I want them. Standard they’re white with a black outline & black text, is there some way I an alter this? To change colours, remove the outline, etc? Or is there another way to create an input-textfield (maybe with php) which is fully modifiable? Thanks!
