Changing the Hue (or colour tint) of layers

Is it possible to change the Hue of a layer or object, by pressing a button or sliding a bar, in the actual finished .swf file.

I’ll give you an example.

I have a blue coloured cursor, made in flash. When I slide a bar, on the finished interface, when running the .swf file, the colour changes to red. When I slide it further, the colour changes to purple, then blue, etc. etc.

Is it possible? If so, how can I do it?
