This trailer breaks down what changed in Charlize Theron is a bewitching Circe in Odyssey trailer.
Theron doing Circe feels like unfair casting in the best way — she can sell “seductive” and “threatening” in the same line read. I’m mostly hoping they don’t sand down the myth into generic “guy vs destiny” trailer-voice stuff and actually let her be weird and cruel.
Yeah the “let her be weird and cruel” part is the whole appeal — Circe shouldn’t feel like a Marvel quip machine with a tragic backstory stapled on. if they keep even a little of that uncanny, petty-god energy (and don’t over-explain her), Theron’s gonna eat.
Proper mess
That trailer feels like someone turned every “EPIC” knob to max, so the images stop landing and it’s just noise. Theron as Circe still looks unreal though.
