wow
wow that was a cool *** game
whoa…
WOW! That game was excellent. It recreated the mario kart experience in a tiny window in Flash - brilliant :thumb:
there was a track called “creamy ride”…
hehehe
**** awesome
wow wow wow
it makes my head hurt thinking about how you would do that…
Same here man Any ideas?
Wow ! That was magnificant !
Its not easy to explain how it works, but its not difficult to understand… if you see what I mean
the ground is made up of horizontal strips. Each strip is a mask masking off an image of the track. The strips get thinner towards the horizon, and the scale of the image behind each strip is reduced accordingly. This give the sense of depth. Then, by positioning, and rotating each image behind each strip you can give the effect of moving around a flat plane.
The interesting thing is this is not far removed from the original mode 7 perpective technique used to create Mario Kart on the SNES.
Its a great engine no? What with the camera behavior they’ve managed to build in. You can get the engine source code and chat to the creator of the original engine as well as the creator of this game over on FlashKit:
