Clickable map w/XML?

Hi all ~ Yes, I’ve searched the forums, but sadly haven’t yet found an answer. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I was trying to use the XML gallery as a template for loading photos & text descriptions of various towns when people click an area on a map.

The AS Senocular uses creates clickable thumbnails in a row, but I need the buttons to be situated over the correct part of the map & show the correct photo & text from the XML when clicked. The tutorials I’ve found usually run from first photo to last rather than allowing people to choose which ‘node’ info they want. I also don’t know how to code the buttons to display the proper info w/o coding each individually. Figure an array of some sort from the XML, but frankly, I’m not that smart w/this stuff…

Any hints on how to accomplish this? I’m sure there has to be a way to avoid using 100 text files & naming 100 different buttons, but I only know enough AS to decipher what other people have put together - I can’t come up w/my own from scratch just yet…

Using MX 2004.

If anybody can help, please use small words
THANK YOU!!!
