Components doesnt follow my MC

Im trying do a mailform, but when I use this code the components that im using doesnt show. the mail_mc is there, but not the components, why is that?

		_root.attachMovie("mail", "mail_mc", 61);
		_root.mail_mc._x=400;
		_root.mail_mc._y=300;
