I have just started using Flash MX componants and I have found browser incompatability between Explorer and Netscape 4. For Example I have created a menu of Buttons as a Movie Clip and placed this inside a Scroll component. It works ok in Explorer but in Netscape the Movie Clip drops out of the area of the scroll box.
I am having a problem controlling the position of the Movie Clips when placing (targeting them) into a Scroll componat. I wonder if this has anything todo with it.
it might. And there may be a wall which cannot be overcome (at least until they patch it). You can find a list of some of these errors on www.macromedia.com … I think in their FAQ section on browser incompatability. Sorry I don’t have a direct link to a page. I haven’t been there in a long time.
It may be solvable by constructing your own drop down, adhiring to 5.0 standards, then doing your production as a 5.0 doc. Obviously that will take some amount of work. Best to look for the info first to see if it’s really an incompatability issue, or if they offer up possible solutions to the problem.
Sounds though like it could just be an a/s problem as well. Probebly want to provide a copy of your FLA to look at, (if it’s not a privicy/copy right issue.)
You made sure netscape is running the most up to date version of the player as the stuff scrolling out of the scrollpane is an old issue with this.
