Correct Masking Practices - Trouble revealing 4 borders

Hey all,

I’m pretty new to Flash in general and this is my first post but I’m trying to figure it all out as I go, so bare with me.

My current little stumbling block is to have the border of a box (where an image will go) be drawn in gradually - so the top and left grow over and downwards, then the bottom and right grow over and downards to form 4 solid sides.

I got the hang of masking earlier by simply enlarging a graphic block to reveal what was underneath, but that seems to be where all the tutorials stop and I can’t figure out how to have the 4 different sides of the border all appear in order (shape tweens became all distorted with more than 1 side).

If this needs more clarification, please let me know. I could whip-up an animated GIF or something if need-be.

Thanks!
